Books and Reader's Advisory
It seems people usually fit into one of two categories; those who love to read and those who wish they loved to read. Many times the bridge from the latter to the former is simply finding the right book, author, or genre.
Come to the "Book Side"...you'll never regret it.

Here are some ways to begin choosing the right book for you:

-
Reader's Advisory Lists - Lists provided by librarians that highlight different genres, authors, and topics.
-
Award winners/Genre/Subject - Look at YALSA's top picks each year for fiction and non-fiction titles.
-
Read-alikes - Read everything from your favorite author? See if there are other authors that write in a similar style.
-
Book reviews - Get the impression of a reviewer to see if the book interests you. Even if the reviewer doesn't rate it highly, try a chapter or two and form your own opinion. You might end up loving it!
-
Book trailers - I love these when they are done well! Look for "official" trailers from the publisher or author.
-
Recommend Me a Book - Read the first page of a random novel. Reveal the author and title if you get hooked.
